See you, Yann.

Week 47. LLMs: a dead end?

Hello! Welcome to this new edition, snack mode.

Yann Le Cun leaves Meta

Resonating with the Tiny Recursive Models I discussed last week, Meta's Chief AI Scientist Yann LeCun is departing Meta to pursue his vision of reasoning-capable AI. LeCun argues that world models—not large language models—hold the key to developing AI systems capable of genuine reasoning, complex action planning, and accurate predictions. "We're never going to get to human-level AI by just training on text," the researcher stated during a Harvard talk in September. "Despite what you might hear from some of the more optimistic-sounding CEOs of various AI companies in Silicon Valley, it's just not going to happen."

The unlikely origin story of Google Analytics, 1996–2005-ish. Funny backstory into your favorite analytics tool 😉

Single tasking is better. This method proves far more effective because it aligns with our natural brain function: while the brain treats all tasks as equally important by default, clearly identifying THE priority and displaying it in your environment allows it to automatically recognize that task as most important.

Practical examples on using Claude at work. I particularly liked the resource on how to create a company newsletter.

Happy Friday,
