Merci Larry: what to expect in 2026?

I'd write even if nobody read it. But since you're here, here's what's coming this year.

6,051 people read something on Merci Larry last year, including you. Merci !

That's 75% fewer readers than in 2020. Organic search is down by 75%, email referrals down by 50%. I deleted my Twitter account a while back and stopped promoting articles on social media because the network saturation isn't worth it anymore. It costs me visibility, but honestly? I'm still happy sharing what I'm learning. I think I'd write even if nobody read it!

The good news: 51% open rate. Not bad for the subscription economy. Though I do need to clean up my subscriber list.

Enough stats. Here's what's changing this year:

What I'm stopping: The weekly Friday curation. You engaged with it, and I appreciated that, but it was incredibly time-consuming and I'm not convinced it brought you real value.

What I'm focusing on:

  • Management insights: what it's like having team leads reporting to you, leading through high uncertainty, and improving leadership using principles from special forces (yes, really).
  • Growth marketing decisions: making bold calls like Jérôme Kerviel, but better (I promise). I'll keep sharing learnings, probably in shorter formats as they come up.
