I'd write even if nobody read it. But since you're here, here's what's coming this year.
6,051 people read something on Merci Larry last year, including you. Merci !
That's 75% fewer readers than in 2020. Organic search is down by 75%, email referrals down by 50%. I deleted my Twitter account a while back and stopped promoting articles on social media because the network saturation isn't worth it anymore. It costs me visibility, but honestly? I'm still happy sharing what I'm learning. I think I'd write even if nobody read it!
The good news: 51% open rate. Not bad for the subscription economy. Though I do need to clean up my subscriber list.
Enough stats. Here's what's changing this year:
What I'm stopping: The weekly Friday curation. You engaged with it, and I appreciated that, but it was incredibly time-consuming and I'm not convinced it brought you real value.
What I'm focusing on:
- Management insights: what it's like having team leads reporting to you, leading through high uncertainty, and improving leadership using principles from special forces (yes, really).
- Growth marketing decisions: making bold calls like Jérôme Kerviel, but better (I promise). I'll keep sharing learnings, probably in shorter formats as they come up.
Here are the most popular publications from 2025:
- Picta for Kids: building momentum for what comes next
- Ask Mark
- From Chinese dumplings to 8-figure budgets: my 5 years at Pictarine
- From #146 to #5 in Apple's Photo & Video ranking in 24 hours
À très vite,
Alice
