Google's AI revolution: betting on the Future of Search
Google has revamped its Search leadership team, signaling a significant investment in artificial intelligence (AI), which comes as no surprise. Liz Reid, who has been instrumental in spearheading the initial phases of the Search Generative Experience (SGE), is now assuming the role of Head of Search.
As content creators and owners, now is the time to make strategic moves to anticipate the evolution of Google's responses. This means rethinking how we structure our content to ensure visibility in the next phase of Google’s new business model.
Google has a new head of Search — and she’s all in on AI.
TikTok is leaning in even more to its app being used like a search engine.
With Creator Rewards, its Monetization program, TikTok wants creators to focus on trending searches based on both personalized and general data. Google executives have already reported that 40% of Gen-Z use TikTok for Search and this new feature shows that TikTok is keen to strenghten its game on Search.
TikTok is paying creators to up its search game.
🏀 The only constant is your team. The only one advice from Netflix’s co-founder Marc Randolph is to build the best team. He actually listed 6 tips on hiring and management: the mindset of the No rules rules’s book is perfectly reflected here. I particularly liked that one: “interview for what you expect someone to accomplish for you, rather than just reviewing what they accomplished elsewhere”. My Three Criteria For Success in Early-Stage Companies.
📢 Google is testing its Search Generative Experience to a small percentage of US users who did not opt-in. The aim is to get a more general appreciation toward a less tech savvy population. Google starts testing AI overviews from SGE in main Google search interface.
💰We should […] be more intelligent about […] internal cache sharing among user agents. A recent statement from Gary Illyes (Google) that highlights that Google is crawling the same amount of pages as before … while the web has grown exponentially so they need to be more picky on which pages to crawl and reduce associated costs accordingly. Gary Illyes From Google Wants Googlebot To Crawl Less.
